Stretched Religion by EveresshiaWind Stretched Religion by EveresshiaWind
Drew this last night after a long and heated argument over religious views last night with my girlfriend. I don't wish to discuss the argument straightly, but hopefully my illustration reveals my frustration. As always, thank you for viewing.

Looking this in your gallery, I said to myself: "This is something I don't understand, this must be good"
Well, I'm kind of a physicist at heart, if I understand something and read about the subject, I'm not too excited. But, if I have to analyse in order to understand something new, I call that thing interesting.

Well, first thing I saw was the cross on top. Correct me if I'm wrong, but given its position, it's the most important element in this artwork. I also thing that it represents religion and is the only thing clear in the pink-floyd-like drawing. Leading me to the conclusion that faith is easy, but everything else is a mess.

Then I saw the root and how everything was connected. It's a nice way to leave everything intertwined.

Beneath the cross, I thought there was a lot of hair. Took me a while until I figured it was either Jesus or someone random. His face is replaced by the root. Or maybe the message is: Jesus face is the root of christianism. I also saw a thorn, which looks like a horn. Saying: Jesus is a holy figure, but religion corrupts him.

Last, but not least (ha, how cliché) I saw the despicable figure at the bottom. Just looking at it brings me the most despiteul thoughts. It has lips to charm and fangs to devour. As Jesus guy, it is the root of religion. Oh, the irony. Religion built with malice and fallen heroes.

Of course, I had to read the description to figure most of this stuff by myself.

It is, a great way to add a critique (your way, not mine.) and it's a display of originality, thus five stars.
The technique was simple, but greatly executed. Making everything with white lines on black paper... well, kinda too simple. but the dots that added a particular effect saved you from a simple 3.5 to 4.5 stars.
There's a great impact but apparently the lack of comments show that people need something else.

For the Queens' sake, that flash ruined the left part! If you cover whatever it's illuminated with your hand and see the effect white lines have, it's delightful to the sight. But duuuude... it was really annoying.

well, I hope I made myself clear. I loved the message and the way you did it, but I hate flash (not Flash Gordon)

This is very interesting, i was unsure as to what i was looking at and honestly, even after reading the critique, i am still not sure, the cross at the top is obvious, but maybe not so obvious in meaning, as i cannot assume of what religion you are i cannot see from what angle this drawing comes, but no matter how much i do not understand, the drawing speaks for it's self, it is deep and mysterious and i really do like it :)

Thanks for giving me your thoughts. :) As far as my specific religion goes, I have one of my own, though its based around Christianity. These particular images I draw are generally the result of my own frustration from a series of problems within my personal life. I go back at times and can't even quite tell myself what I was thinking and why I chose the distorted objects for subject. I just know I was very frustrated. Lol.

You're welcome. I am the same as far as religion goes, based on Christianity but not quite :) i often do similar things, art showing current emotion, it is a good way to let off steam and even put into a better 'shape' (for lack of a better word) the things you feel so you can see it yourself. I've always loved things like this, i feel if art doesn't have emotion, it's not art.

THANK YOU!!! Seriously, there's not many people who get the true meaning of art, which is really about expression. :D If a piece lacks emotion, then it is crap to me. :P
