In horribly predictable rhythms.

Beneath the moss of your breath.

Across those spoken words

Belched.

Yet the rudeness continues.

It pains me to tighten

Those muscle within my throat.

They squeeze squeeze squeeze

Until I'm no longer breathing

But gasping.

Across the lines of noises

Far more powerful

Than the thump of my bass.

We will find enlightenment.

Than the materialistic world around you.

With a bold hand,

I'll write you a song,

With endless versus.

They'll tear us apart,

And bring us together again

In this shaken downward spiral.

There is nothing left

For either of us to lose.

Yet, when I asked you:

"What if I gave you everything?"

You replied so subtlety:

"That it is impossible."

I can give you everything,

If you only open your door.

I'll fill your house with nothing

Sweat pinned itself within the air. The temperature rose with every tug on the rope, those thick knots stressing a tight grip around a pair of frail wrists. The time of day became unknown when a busted eye opened to a room full of old colors. The windows were sheathed with a silver shield--a cheap brand of aluminum foil, and as if it were a mirror, he starred at his crumpled reflection.

"Did you hear me?"

Distance became difficult to judge. One eye swollen, and the other hazy, her body wobbled for an impossible freedom. Her strength weak, she respond:

"Where am I?"

"I don't know."

With just a twist on the simplest phrase.

On the simplest metaphors, we rise.

Maybe I'm not being clear enough,

But if you kept my head out of the clouds,

Would we keep this simple thing going

In the direction of happiness?

Maybe it's not that simple.

Maybe my clarity is too transparent.

You see right through me

In to the other side,

And realize I'm often invisible.

I'm often over looked.

I'm often threatened.

But if you broke me,

Broke me like you always had,

Would the cracks be more appealing

To your naked eye?

Then break me.

This is the edited version of my last painting. I didn't do too much more than simply soften some of the brush strokes, enhance the colors, and place a border. I thought it came out better than my original, but that's just me. Thank you for viewing!

It looks so realistic and brings back so many memories for me I can't even explain it...

Thank you for that! Lol. Some people have argued that this seems over-done, and so on. I personally love these edited versions about as equally as the originals.

I just wish I my originals would appear more like this. Lol. I'm working on it though.

Original looks better, this is what in my circle is called "overdone". Pretty good rule is to think it's overdone in the moment when you think it's looking OK.

Haha, thanks. That's why I've offered both of them. I don't have a great deal of editing options. It's the best I could do. :/ It's definitely attracted more attention than my original though. I personally like the original better, but I'm not my audience.

Audience shouldn't be target in both your and mine case

Afterall, we still are not [link] . Real attention comes with real skill, and with artists real inside revealed. Sadly, there are hard times for new artists to get seen. One have to be good, or go up with something mainstream. There are times when I do something original, but it's not getting popular at all

Haha, I'll die starving before I follow the mainstream artists.

I've always said real art is about the vulnerability an artist puts forth in their work. Occasionally, I look for something pretty. Typically, I look for something emotional (for a lack of a better term), which in turn makes it pretty.

Seriously, thank you for commenting on my work. It's nice to see someone else understanding that real meaning behind that cliche term: Art.
